I want to say the fandom should allow for more discussion about the nuances to Logan’s character, but I’m afraid it will sound like I’m defending him. And I’m not! Like obviously he looms over the other characters as uniquely awful in a whole world of awful characters. There’s no denying that. But I’m fascinated by how he got there? It didn’t happen in a vacuum and I think that’s worth exploring? Just like most people, most abusers (MOST, obviously not ALL) aren’t black and white straight-up monsters. We see glimmers of kindness, of humor, of affection from Logan. And they’re not all faked.
I don’t really know where I’m going with this, but I would just love to see more discussion about him in the fandom that isn’t die old man and that’s it. I mean, yeah, die old man, but before you do, can we explore what makes you tick a little? If we can all apparently forget and never acknowledge what Roman did to the little boy at the baseball game in the first episode and instead focus on how much love he has to give, can we, like, take a sec to mourn the child Logan was, separated from his mother at a crucial young age and subjected to unspeakable abuse by the man supposed to care for him?
The generational abuse didn’t start with him, but the power and wealth he’s accumulated has put him in a position to abuse with wanton abandon. He was determined not to become the man his uncle was but fate enabled him to far surpass Noah on a global scale. And that’s an incredible tragic villain arc, and frankly I think fans would be more into exploring his story if he were younger and sexier like the golden trio.

Here we go again,
Puzzles/ jigsaws would confuse Aliens so much
Set on the serpentine, beginning of the humans tenure
Important crew:
Primoz, captain -Limoyh a four armed species-Krag, second in command (brother of Primoz)
Kit, dokter -avian, bird like, she has feathers like a swallow-
Ortez, ASR (all species resources, human resources in space) -kiltak, insectoid species, think ants but exoskeleton-
Lugea, helmsperson (does the steering) -rock like alien-
Artex, engineer/mechanic 1 -also Kiltak-
And then our humans:
Kamari, navigator -Eritrean woman- (has cat named Sidra)
Markus, weapons expert (knows how to use them and upkeep, also shields) -Swedish man-
Petrus, mechanic/engineer 2 - Italian man-
Lilly, administrator/note keeper (learns languages for fun)-english woman-
~~~~~~~
Puzzles
The serpentine is on route between trading posts, this is currently the furthest route without proper jump point because of the static energy surrounding the dual planets castor and pollux.
Primoz is getting worried. The humans are becoming increasingly more jittery and Kamari looks like she a pinch away from punch someone, Markus has been ‘humming’ a song that annoys her greatly. Honestly the noises the tall man is making don’t seem that bad but every few minutes her eyebrows twitch which Ortez told him is a sign of frustration.
Before the captain can figure out how to keep them from doing something deathworld worthy, Lilly comes in with precariously stacked carton boxes and Petrus carrying a table. Setting the pile down the smallest human straightens out “look what i brought! Old earth puzzles! This one has a deer and this one has the old world wonders” immediately the humming stops and Markus is at the table with Petrus “oh yes Lilly you are the best! I wanna do the deer one, that is gonna be a challenge”
With the table in the corner of the bridge the tension among crew is nearly gone, as all species try to put the cut apart pictures together, Lilly brought 9 puzzles and at a certain point a competition was forming: after one of the human unit had finished a puzzle the other crew try to make it in less time. They have yet to win.
Looking at his relaxed crew Primoz grins at his brother who is trying to use all his four arms to put pieces together without much succes. Turning away from the competition he taps Lilly on her shoulder “how do you guys do it? Also why did you think to take these things with you.” Lilly looks up from her drawing (the crew bent over the table making the puzzle) “well i knew it was going to be a long trip, Kamari thinks Markus will be ‘professional’ but he can’t help himself” her soft smile when she puts air punctuation around professional makes her look much younger than she is “puzzles are something many humans enjoy, not everyone is as good at them as Markus, but he does this thing where he uses the shape of them more than colours. While he isn’t colour blind, he has real trouble with telling differences in shades. No idea why it works this well but it does, Petrus has already won three nights of free drinking on Castor from betting.” All of a sudden looking bashful Lilly ducks her head “ah eh yes sorry forget i said that we don’t bet on this at all!” Primoz just grins “nobody has broken anything this whole trip, im not going to disrupt the flow you and your unit created. Don’t worry.”
At arrival Petrus has won the whole human crew free drinks for the foreseeable future, and the crew in its entirety hooked on puzzles. While not all species see the colours the same way or understand the patterning in the pieces the feeling of putting in the correct pieces makes it such an enjoyable activity that Lilly brings new puzzles after every holiday back home.
~~~~~~~~~
This one was born out of the confusion my family had when we were making puzzles (jigsaws?) the pictures in pieces… this is where it becomes super clear English is not my first language. Anyway, we had two puzzles out and they were so surprised i could differentiate the positions the pieces needed to be in without context. I had to tell them that the pattern otherwise won’t make sense,
I have the same thing as Markus that colours are fine unless you put several of the same colours next to each other and call them different. This is why the deer one is super hard,
The two puzzles that were described:

I feel howard deserves his own category 💔💔
Aaron Hotchner has me wanting men in suits. I’ve been imagining Lalo in suits, or at least formal wear and coats and shit and IK Princesa would kill that man with her pussy if he wore that sort of thing. Of course Succession is all suits so Baby watching Roman getting fitted and running her hands over his belly and chest and getting him choked up in front of the tailor…you might get a bit more Howard maybe? Enough to make his own Masterlist at least (I STILL need to update and make more masterlists for BCS and Succ)
But Howard asking Lovely to pick which suit of his, both barely different in shades of blue. She orders him lovingly to try both on and it’s a grown man getting blushed while he goes to change in the closet. But she doesn’t understand…he can change right in front of her.
She finds him beautiful and adorable and hot as the blonde changes from suit to suit before she makes her choice. Lovely picks the one with the darker shade on Howard, and off of Howard. He already kisses a bit too hard as she unbuttons. He just adores the fact she adores him. Desires him.
It’s a lovely thing.

First thing I see on twitter after not going there for a while
Tumblr media
Someone made a fake account of a shady news site just for this 😭
Btw I am absolutely loving everything about demon Jihyo with her Sanas and I need more
I totally agree with your last ask
Angel Sana is hung af and demon Jihyo, who considers herself a size queen, struggles to take all of her
it's perfectly normal for a "humanized" Jihyo to struggon taking human Sana, who's slightly bigger than the average
She's also not used to feeling pain which might make her take a while to be able to take Sana totally
She's also small so that might make a her struggle a bit more than normal (small hyo agenda forever)
But imagine how cute their hybrid babies would look 🥺
Angel/demon babies that have Jihyo's horns but also a tiny halo floating around one horn, demon wings that are light shades of blue/gold and angel wings being a darker color
Idk why but I can't help imagining a little family on every sahyo thing I see, they just give those loving parents vibe
no comments about the pic... also no comments about demon jihyo and angel sana's babies, i'm having flashbacks of nahyo's 'cabbits'
She's also small so that might make a her struggle a bit more than normal (small hyo agenda forever)
i miss the tiny hyo agenda!! i know i always make sure to emphasize how small jihyo is when i write stuff but i can never have enough of her... might as well give her a size kink for the succ drabble

"You know? Maybe my stay in London won't be so bad after all..."
════ ⋆★⋆ ════════ ⋆★⋆ ════
Hello, Hello, everyone! This is Aiza here, once again, this time, bringing something a bit different... A little draft I did of my AC: Syndicate AU and showing a bit more of my OC for the game! I hope you guys enjoy it since is my first time posting a small writting of mine, here! 🥹🩵
Without further ado, let's go!
════ ⋆★⋆ ════════ ⋆★⋆ ════════ ⋆★⋆ ═
The darkness of the London's sky was comforting... At least at that moment. The cool breeze hitted her face, moving her braid softly against the wind.
Her dark copper hair glowed under the faint moonlight that timidly shined through the dark clouds. The weather was always so dark, so cloudly... Was it because of the constant smokes coming from the factories? Or simply the natural disposition of London's climate? She couldn't tell...
She kept cleaning her blade. The red hankchief she carried helping to hide the blood trail. The silver-colored weapon returning to it's shimering with every stroke she performed in it.
"... Y así pasan los días
Y yo desesperando
Y tu, tu contestando
Quizás, quizás, quizás...
... Estas perdiendo el tiempo
Pensando, pensando
Por lo que mas tu quieras
Hasta cuándo, hasta cuándo..."
The woman started to hum idly as she completed her task, her voice was of a Mezzosoprano tone, singing in a melodic but quiet pace.
So immersed on her work, she didn't noticed the light steps approaching her by her back in the cold rooftop. And she would have imediatly draw her blade on the stranger's throat, if it wasn't for the voice she quickly recognized.
- What are you doing here, little Hoopoe? - Spoke a male voice with an english accent, to which made her lower her guard and turn to face him. She looked a bit startled, and annoyed, but relieved it was a familiar face.
- I just needed a moment for myself, Mr. Frye... - The Spanish woman started, raising an eyebrow at him. - ... What are you doing here? Do not tell me you were indulging on those pubs again. -
The woman asked, knowing the Assassin's habit of drinking with his gang members until the late hours. And considering their expantion over London has been quite succeful those days, she was pretty sure he had been out drinking.
Her only reply was a humorous laugh, as he standed besides her, looking down at her as she was sitted in the edge of the rooftop.
- Is that how you see me? As a drunk scoundrel that only 'indulges himself on those pubs'? I feel hurt. - Jacob asked with a sarcastic and playful tone, smirking as he watched the Spaniard's cheeks heat up and gain a faint shade of red, barely visible with her olive complexion and the dim light of the street lights.
- ... You know that is not what I meant... - Solange argued in a murmur, visibly embarassed to have possibly offended him and not following the proper politeness she was taught.
Jacob sitted besides her, taking a look in the view and then at her, before speaking again.
- And you still haven't awnser my question, little Hoopoe. - He pointed out, seeing how vague her reply was, and how strange it was to find her at that hour. It was usual for him and Evie to roam the streets at the late night, but Solange? She usually would spend her evenings indulging herself in those pompous (and awfully demanding) social events of the high-class.
- Wouldn't you preffer to spend your "time for yourself" in your aunt's estate? I believe a warm long bath and the bed of the guest's room would be much more enjoyable than feel the cold night wind while sitting in a dirty rooftop. - The British Assassin commented in a light manner, in his typical charming manner.
Always a charmer, always charismatic...
...Was he always like this? It was both irritating and heart-lighting... Solange envied how well would he take things. How he always had this smooth-talker way of dealing with everything. This captivating energy that neither She nor the Evie had.
- ... Believe me, Mr. Frye... Is nothing. - The Spanish Assassin commented in a serious tone, before sighing heavily. - Starrick's influence in the British court is more than we expected... -
She started with a more firm tone, making the British man frown besides her. - What did you found? -
Solange mimicked his face expression, looking at her blade.
- James Brownlow William Gascoyne-Cecil, the Marquess of Salisbury, is another noble that is joining the Templars. - The Spanish Lady informed, her expression more worried. - We also suspect Lord Wensleydale may be connected to Starrick. Not as a member, but as an ally... Two nobles and a Judge. -
The Assassin concluded worried, clearly impressed that would be more Templars inside the court than just the Earl of Cardigan.
- Starrick is securing his strings in the Parlament too. - Jacob concluded with a more serious and somber voice, the brunette only nodded.
- I believe Starrick also have plans for my uncle, Tía Desirée is trying to use that in her advantage to approach and discover their true intentions. - The Spanish Assassin explained her family's course of action, placing her red hankchief on her lap.
- But in all honesty? I just did not wish to take part in tonight's gathering...- She commented quietly, looking down at the streets. The other Assassin looked at her surprised.
- What? Why? I thought you enjoyed "spending the night dancing your fears always and hoping to find a gentleman to wed."- Jacob commented with a smile, remembering what he heard his partner-in-Creed commenting with her aunt while he and his sister visited their estate. Solange chuckled and held her hands together.
- You're correct. However, is not that I do not like the events, is just that... - The Spaniard started, but her voice died down, as did her gaze. Jacob looked at her, eager for her to continue her phrase. - ... My aunt was trying to find me another suitor. Edward Marjoribanks, the son of the Baron Tweedmouth. -
She revealed, sounding a bit more nervous. Jacob looked at her confused.
- Well, aren't those good news? - He asked, his voice still laced with puzzlement. - You wished for a suitor, doesn't that overjoy you? - The British asked, going straight to the point.
Sometimes, his directness was a bit disconcerting.
- Yes, it was... - Solange confirmed in a tensed tone, before she let out a deep sigh. -... I know I should not oppose to this, and heavens knows how lucky I am a man even try to show interest in me while being... Una defectuosa enferma. - She murmured the last part with bitterness, although despite being in her mother-tongue, by the frown on his face, it was clear Jacob had heard it as well, despite not understanding the words exactly, he could recognize the tone. - But I... I simply do not know. - The brunette concluded in agony.
Jacob frown, still not really understanding.
- You do not know if you wish to wed him? - He asked, and the girl nodded.
- Do not get me wrong, he seems like a good gentleman, but... I simply do not wish to marry him. - She stated in a sad tone. - I... I know a marriege with him would be of great help for the Assassins, and would help strenght our influence inside the Parlament, but I... - She started to explain her thoughts, until she was stopped.
By the Assassin besides her, that had a clear frown and a face of disapproval in his face.
- Oi! Listen to me - Jacob started, sounding weirdly serious. A jarring contrast of his usual carefree tone. - You do not have to marry some Boujee to help the Brotherhood! We can overthrow Starrick without locking you on a Marital Prison! - He stated. Despite his tone becoming a tid more playful in the end, she could still feel the seriousness of his words.
He mean it. He really meant every word he spoke... She didn't knew wether to feel touched by his concern for her opinion, or she pitied him for not knowing the prices of the high-class. Solange sighed once more.
- Mr. Frye, I appreacite your words, truly... - She started, her voice calm and collected as ever, despite her hint of sadness. -... But I know my responsabilities, as my status demand...-
- Solange. - He started, calling her by her name, knowing this would get her full attention. - Before being a Noble, before being an Assassin, you're a bloody person. - Jacob affirmed seriously, even if his tone was not harsh. But it was evident that he hated that.
He hated to see how much Solange would put herself down, beat herself for not fitting what was expected of her... And mostly importantly, he hated how she was ready to sacrifice herself to fullfil those expectations. He couldn't stand it. He couldn't.
- Please, listen to yourself. To what you are saying! Do you believe trapping youself to an unhappy relationship is worth it? We can fight Starrick, and we will free London. - Jacob said with confidence, as to inspire her. - You do not have to go to such limits for the sake of a "good alternative". -
She looked at him. For the first time, the honey-colored eyes met his hazel ones... And she smiled. A simple, timid but sincere smile. Despite the layers of make-up that covered her disease, her face seemed to glow in gratitude.
-... I can not run from courtship forever, Mr. Frye... - The Spanish Assassin argued, her tone sounding more soft, even relaxed, as she spoke now. Jacob smiled slightly, looking at the scenary.
- Why do you insist so much on this, Lady Cotoner? - The British Assassin asked, with curiosity in his voice. He knew noblewomen usually married off early, but the way she took it so desperatly, definetly felt a bit... Strange, to not say obssessive, to him. - Wouldn't you rather wait until our mission is over to look for a man to betrothed you? -
Solange's eyes quickly shifted towards the street, as she bit her bottom lip light, in a discreet nervous gesture.
- Yo... - She started, her tone hesitant and heavy. -... I'm not like the other ladies, Mr. Frye... - The brunette stated, her voice disappointed and quiet. -... I fear no men will desire to wed a woman like me, for something I carry. - She concluded in a short and simple manner, clearly not wanting to elaborate the topic further.
Jacob looked at her for a few moments in silence. He wanted to ask her more about this "thing" she "carried with her", but he could also feel how that bothered her... And he did not wished to make her uncomfortable. Specially at that hour.
- Lady Cotoner... - He started, his voice sounding understanding and sympathetic. - We may have only known each other for a few days, but, if I may say: I found you an incredibly capable and beautiful woman. - Jacob said, his tone full of sincerity and animosity. - I cannot imagine a man on his right mind, specially a noble one, rejecting your hand to be claimed. -
Despite their differences and personalities, Jacob admired Solange. The Spanish Lady was a kind, sweet soul as much as she was a deadly Assassin. Her devotion, her understanding nature, her curiosity... Jacob admired them. And he did considered the Spaniard a friend, despite not knowing if the feeling was mutual.
At his words, Solange looked at him surprised, her mouth slightly agape and her eyes bright in desbelief and flattering... Did he really mean it? She hoped, deep down, he did. That those weren't just words of consolation, but of sincere admirament.
Once again, she smiled a soft smile, a hint of blush in olive her cheeks by the flattering his words caused on her... Her expression softned.
- Thank you for your words, Mr. Frye... - She started, her elegant voice filled with gratitude for such caring words directed at her. Then, she stood up slowly, looking at the sky. -... We should better go, is getting late and we will continue our moviments early morning. - She stated casually, feeling the wind move her royal-blue coat and hood against it.
Jacob smiled, as he stood up, but he did not walked towards her.
- Will you meet us in the train? - He asked, already knowing the awnser. This was becoming a routine since they had defeated Keylock and as she introduced herself as another Assassin from the Spanish Brotherhood.
- Yes, as always. - Solange confirmed in a more content tone, standing in the edge of the rooftop, before turning slightly back towards him. - Oh, and Mr. Frye... - She started, catching the British's attention, as he raised an eyebrow, waiting for her next words. - ... I also find you a capable Assassin... And a great leader. - The Spaniard stated in a warm tone, smiling to him, as she said "Good Night" and jumped off to another rooftop, running and moving in the night swiftly as a shadow.
Jacob smiled to himself, feeling the familiar cool breeze of London, and the smell of heavy smoke from the chimneys as he watched her disappear in the darkness of the night . - Good Night, little Hoope. -

I think the reason I dislike Hamilton so much (besides the glorification of literal slave owners) is because at is core Hamilton is a musical about The American Dream.
I find everything about The American Dream (and yes I'll capitalize it) fascinating. Maybe because being from a developing country I grew up being groomed to maybe have a change at either imigrating and following The American Dream myself or getting close enough to it that my kids would finally be the ones to bring my family to the U.S (and I wasn't the only one) or because I have a cousin that lost it all trying to immigrate and was barred at the border for no real reason and is back here with no money and a bad job because he put all his cards on The American Dream. Or maybe because U.S media is deeply popular for south american kids and we wach more your movies and read your books than our owns. Either way I grew up with the idea that I was unlucky to be born here and if I had just being born in the US. Only to find out that this wasn't true. People on the US were just as unlucky.
And if it hurt me to discover that all the promisses and pressure I got were empty at least it was before I tried to emigrate and follow it. What about all the people who crossed the board and didn't make it? Yes there were succes stories, but still. And what about the kids who were born there? Who were raised to believe they lived in the best country in the wolrd and hard work always meant success only to realize that this isn't the case? Do they blame themselfs? Do they think they just didn't fight hard enough? Do they feel angry?
Lin Manuel Miranda's pro-imigration musical, his masterpiece, is about how the U.S was funded by great people and how it is the job of today american's to remember them and follow their legacy. Is that all the failings on the country aren't systemical problems. It's people forgetting. Forgetting the founding fathers were immigrants, forgetting how liberal and charitable and great they are.
Hamiltom says the American dream is there. That people just need to remember their roots and take it. In the wolrd of Hamilton the system isn't bad au contrary it is good and it was made by great people (yeah, sure) is just that the people defending the system now days are bad and don't understand the REAL system (and that's why the musical conveniently forgets that the founding fathers were slave owners). The final song in Hamilton, "Who lives, who dies, who tells your story", is hopefull. It acts as if remembering the founding fathers for their supposedly progressiviness (Jefferson being complimented for having a good economical system instead of rightfully called out for being an awfull person, the only mention of slavery being when Elisa says she fought against it and that Hamilton would have been proud - would he?) and following their legacy is all one needs to achieve the perfect country. And that's bullshit.
I may not be american but even if the founding fathers were this great people the musical is portraying (and they sure as hell weren't) that would have been bullshit. What makes or breaks a country is more than their legacy, is their systems, is how they were build.
My country has a legacy of real insurgencies being destroyed so moderate conservatives can give us them in lighter shades and pet their backs for how good they are, how much they care for the people they see as lesser. Our independecy was buyed and our republic was negotiated. And people fought before that. But the people who fought wanted to much. They wanted a republic, they wanted the end of slavery, they wanted to compensate the slaves and not the slave owners. So they were silenced. The only insuressionist that got a holiday is the one for the tamest of the failed insurections. The first time the people's will trully mattered was when we took out the dictartoship. Our new republic for all it's multiple failures is the closest to a real people's legacy. So maybe the mensage of Hamilton apply better to us. But if our only good legacy is too fight against the system than how would it work when in Hamilton the system IS the legacy?
I have no answers or solutions. I barerly know what this post is. I just was listening to "Everbody's Got the Right" from Asassins on Spotify and when it ended Spotify went automatically to "Who Lives Who Dies Who Tells Your Story" and listening them side by side gave me a terrible whiplash.

Trailermania and Other Things
Wow, look at that! A new trailer Pixar's ELEMENTAL, and a first trailer for DreamWorks' upcoming sequel TROLLS BAND TOGETHER! Plus other cool things!
youtube
TROLLS BAND TOGETHER looks cute and fun, much like its predecessors. What stuck out to me, and many others, was that groovy surreal 2D animated sequence that I hope we see more of in the movie proper. More weird shifts in art styles like that, please, because the first TROLLS had some moments like that, and TROLLS WORLD TOUR had some little details here and there along with its distinct colorful worlds. The story seems markedly smaller-scale than WORLD TOUR, sort-of circling back after going big. I think releasing it five days before Disney Animation's WISH, however, isn't all that smart... And weird, considering that in many European territories, the movie is aiming for a September/October bow, but what do I know?
youtube
ELEMENTAL's new proper trailer gives us a much better idea of what director Peter Sohn's new Pixar movie is really made of. They got the basic premise out of the way with the teaser, which is - quite frankly - a teaser's job. They're made for Average Joe and Jane Soccermom, not nerds like you and I. The new trailer showcases all the fun worldbuilding and just how many gags they can stretch out of this idea: Elements being living beings. Very cartoony, very much made for animation, plus it even pokes fun at its own world. That whole quip about the purpose of chain-link fences is a line that would be even funnier in one of the CARS movies. Peter Sohn had said that the story was very personal to him as a child of Korean immigrants living in New York in the '70s and '80s, and I think we're seeing shades of that in this new trailer. But yes, visually a treat. Colorful AF, with some of that midcentury modern graphic design thing going on with the movie's logo and title cards, much like INSIDE OUT. What's exciting me about this movie is that it's animated characters where everything about them - flowing water, waving fire, etc. - is moving. It's like, super-animated.
And as a treat? Pixar's attaching CARL'S DATE, a much-delayed episode of the UP spin-off Disney+ series DUG DAYS, to the movie. This will be the first Pixar short to run in movie theaters since BAO back in 2018, which of course screened before INCREDIBLES 2. TOY STORY 4 in 2019 ran with *no* short whatsoever, and ONWARD had a Simpsons short - of all things - attached to it. SOUL went straight to Disney+ alongside the short that *would've* accompanied it in theaters, BURROW. LIGHTYEAR was the first Pixar film in theaters, domestically, since ONWARD, and that ran with no short.
More animated shorts in the cinema, pretty please.
I'm also more confident in its box office prospects. It's suggested that former Disney CEO Bob Chapek's heavy pivot to streaming has really hurt Disney's animated output in the pandemic era, from both Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar. A sort of "we can just wait for that to come out on Disney+, when it's free" mentality from potential moviegoers... Meanwhile, Illumination's SING and MINION sequels did pretty great regardless of Peacock's existence, ditto DreamWorks' PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH. These three movies are some of the only animated theatrical-release movies to cross $100m at the domestic box office, and Pixar's LIGHTYEAR did manage to get past that as well, off of its fine opening weekend gross. ELEMENTAL is the first original Pixar movie to hit theaters since ONWARD, which we can't use to gauge its prospects because that opened right before everything shot down in March 2020.
That all being said, this trailer I feel will work on moviegoers. It's a fun premise, and the trailer doesn't hesitate to show lots of the gags and jokes that they pull from it, and it looks colorful. The general public likely associates Pixar with this kind of story (despite online pop culture "experts" insisting that the movie looks like a "parody" of Pixar's past successes), so it could open okay and have solid-to-great legs! Pixars usually cost over $150m to make, so they better hope this one's a blockbuster. As in, opens with at least $45-50m and then legs it past $150m domestically and more than double that worldwide. I want it so succeed, Pixar hasn't had a genuine box office success since TOY STORY 4 back in 2019, and I'd hate to see an original movie struggle.
Summer 2023 is quite crowded in terms of family movies and four-quadrant spectacles, I must say. DreamWorks' RUBY GILLMAN, TEENAGE KRAKEN opens two weeks after ELEMENTAL, and ELEMENTAL opens two weeks after SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE, which itself opens a week after Disney's LITTLE MERMAID remake... And mixed in with these are THE FLASH and the fifth INDIANA JONES movie. Pretty crowded couple of weeks I must say. A statistic back in 2014, which I bring up *a lot*, showed that the average American family hits the cinemas four times a calendar year. I'd imagine that number is even lower in the pandemic era, and I believe the stat because I've been working at a movie theater since August of 2015... And lemme tell ya, sometimes I do a double take on what I've charged my customers for tickets and concessions.
So, yes, lots of families and other moviegoers have become choosier. I feel like we're seeing that with superhero movies this year, honestly, what with ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA having abysmal legs after its giant opening, and SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS straight-up imploding. In such a competitive marketplace, you really need to stand out... not to pretend I know a thing or two about boring economics and capitalism. I think ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE is locked to do well, and on the "live-action" end, THE LITTLE MERMAID and DIAL OF DESTINY will do very well. As for RUBY GILLMAN... If we are to assume it cost $80m max to make, then it could perform like THE BAD GUYS - which narrowly missed $100m domestically and made $250m worldwide - and be considered a success. Okay $20m-ish opening, 3 1/2x multiplier to get it past $70m domestically, add about $150m overseas, all set! THE BAD GUYS had a similarly cutting-it-close marketing campaign, with the teaser bowing in December and the movie proper hitting in April. RUBY GILLMAN's trailer is now out, and the movie is literally three months away. I think they seem confident in this one. From what I understand, PUSS IN BOOTS Dos' Oscar campaign kind of got in the way of them getting the word out on RUBY GILLMAN earlier this year, and of course... A tiny movie Universal is releasing in a week... I'm sure you've never heard of it... It's called THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE.
Anyways, we now await trailers for... Netflix/Annapurna's NIMONA (summer), Netflix/Pearl's THE MONKEY KING (sometime this year), Disney Animation's WISH (November 22nd), Netflix/W/M's LEO (also Nov 22nd), Illumination's MIGRATION (December 22nd), and Aardman/Netflix's CHICKEN RUN: DAWN OF THE NUGGET (to be determined, later this year). And for whoever is interested, the 2nd PAW PATROL movie as well. Eatin' good, as they say.

Beni x Frama | Terrain rug collection
Tumblr media
Could there be any better news than two of your favourite brands teaming up and presenting their collaboration at Maison Rocher during Paris Design week , where you happen to be at that time! Frama is a long time favourite of mine that you have seen writing me about on many different occasions on the blog Ever since my first visit at the Frama store and the home of founder Niels Strøyer Christophersen in 2017, have a look here. I have been following and admiring the brand on their way to the succes. The beautiful and authentic Beni Rugs I got to know at Milan design week, after discovering Colin King was their new artistic director and launched a first collection, with Athena Calderone: Broken Symmetry At one of the most memorable Alcova events I finally got to meet and see the beautiful installation by Beni Rugs which is still on my mind. A must see if you ask me: Spoken lines by Colin King for Beni Rugs at Alcova 2022

Terrain
Terrain is a limited collection of all-natural, undyed, flat woven rugs that take their colors directly from the wool of sheared sheep. The flat-woven Moroccan rugs pay homage to the unadorned beauty of wool and landscape, and present the first collaboration between FRAMA and Beni. Designed by nature over all else, each of the three colorways offered – Soil, Sand, and Salt – are made up entirely of undyed light, medium, and dark wools taken directly from high Atlas Mountain sheep. An homage to Moroccan craft and natural wool, the pure, undyed nature of the fibers encourage customers to see the sheep before the shear. Offering a relaxed texture, as well as a sturdiness and strength,Terrain emphasizes a humble, honest construction in timeless neutral shades of the earth.
Hahaha Olcay rijd haar vraag omver

How to Set Up Your MIG Welder for the First Time?
Tumblr media
When you first purchase a MIG welder, the process of setting it up can seem daunting. The numerous components and settings might raise questions: How do you connect the gas bottles? What’s the correct wire feed speed? How do you ensure safety? In this guide, we’ll walk you through each step of setting up your MIG welder for the first time. By the end, you’ll be ready to tackle your welding projects with confidence.
Understanding Your MIG Welder Machine
Before diving into the setup, it's essential to understand the components of your MIG welder machine. MIG stands for Metal Inert Gas, and this process involves using a continuous wire feed to weld metal. Your MIG welder consists of several key parts: the machine itself, the wire feed system, the welding gun, and the gas supply system.
The MIG Welder Machine: This is the heart of your setup. It controls the wire feed speed and voltage settings.
The Wire Feed System: This includes the spool of welding wire and the feed mechanism that pushes the wire through the welding gun.
The Welding Gun: Attached to the end of the wire feed system, the welding gun delivers the wire and electrical current to the weld.
The Gas Supply System: This includes the argon tank and welding gas bottles, which protect the weld from contamination.
Setting Up Your MIG Welder
1. Prepare Your Work Area
Start by setting up a clean, well-ventilated workspace. A welding table is ideal for stability and safety. Ensure the area is free of flammable materials and has adequate ventilation to disperse any fumes.
2. Connect the Argon Tank
Your MIG welder requires a shielding gas to protect the weld. The most common choice is argon or a mix of argon and CO2. Here’s how to set it up:
Attach the regulator: Secure the regulator to the argon tank. The regulator controls the gas flow rate.
Connect the Gas Hose: Attach the gas hose from the regulator to the MIG welder machine. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
Open the Tank: Slowly open the argon tank valve and adjust the regulator to the recommended pressure (usually around 20–25 cubic feet per hour).
3. Install the welding wire.
The welding wire is fed through the MIG welder to the welding gun. Here’s how to install it:
Load the Wire Spool: Place the spool of welding wire onto the spool holder. Make sure it rotates freely.
Thread the Wire: Feed the wire through the drive rollers and into the gun’s cable. Adjust the drive rollers to match the wire size.
Cut the Wire: Trim any excess wire to ensure a clean feed.
4. Set the voltage and wire feed speed.
Adjusting these settings is crucial for achieving a quality weld. Here’s a basic guide:
Voltage: Set the voltage according to the material thickness and wire type. Refer to the MIG welder’s manual for recommended settings.
Wire Feed Speed: Adjust the wire feed speed to match the voltage setting. Too fast or too slow can affect the weld quality.
5. Attach the welding gun.
The welding gun should be securely connected to the MIG welder. Ensure the nozzle and contact tip are clean and properly installed.
6. Safety First
Always wear appropriate safety gear, including an ESAB welding helmet, gloves, and protective clothing. Ensure the helmet is fitted with the correct shade to protect your eyes from the bright welding arc.
Testing Your Setup
Before starting your welding project, perform a test weld on a scrap piece of metal. This helps ensure your settings are correct and the machine is functioning properly. Adjust the settings if needed based on the test weld results.
Conclusion
Setting up your MIG welder for the first time may seem complex, but by following these steps, you’ll be well on your way to successful welding projects. Understanding your equipment, preparing your workspace, and ensuring safety are crucial steps in this process. With the right setup and a bit of practice, you’ll be able to achieve high-quality welds with confidence.
Remember, the key to successful welding is practice and patience. Don’t hesitate to adjust your settings and test different techniques to find what works best for you.
